Lake Freedom - Popular Species of Fish
Lake Freedom began as a quarry. Depths vary up to 80 feet. Underwater habitat consists of both natural features and human enhanced features to promote a healthy habitat.
For those focused on fishing, we do our best to make it as easy as possible to get your line in the water in a quick and safe manner. Some of those things that lead to the best fishing possible include shocking the lake to monitor the health and population of the fish within the ecosystem. Those studies lead to feeding and stocking plans. Please review some of the Lake stock below

Largemouth Bass
So many sport anglers enjoy fishing for largemouth bass and we have them. We also have a very aggressive feeding plan to make our bass the largest in the state.

Smallmouth Bass
The Smallmouth population is very stout as well. They seem to look forward to challenging you and your angling expertise

Walleye
The Walleye are a bit more elusive but as you can see they are worth the hunt. This walleye was just recently caught and stuck around long enough for us to get his picture. He put up a great fight.

Crappie
The Crappie population continues to flourish. We have a number of anglers that believe we have a state record crappie in the lake as we speak.

Striped Bass
Anglers seem to have many names for this fish. They all add up to a great fight and we have some mighty large striper in the lake

Catfish
Lake freedom has several species of catfish. We have angles who exclusively fish for catfish. In November and new member caught a 38 lb. / 47 Inch Catfish.

Trout
Our Trout are camera shy! But, they are out there. We do not use any stock photos and aren't going to let that elusive trout pic make us start to do so.

The Fish are Waiting to see if you are up for the Challenge
We look forward to seeing you out there
